‘You are my miracle’: Doctors gave Max a 5% chance of survival, but he’s now a healthy boy

A baby doctors said only had a 5% chance of survival is now a healthy, happy four-year-old boy. Max Staines was born with gastroschisis, meaning his organs were formed outside of his body. His mother, Lauren Staines, was encouraged to have an abortion, but she refused, and now sees Max as her miracle.

In an interview with The Mirror, Staines spoke about how she became unexpectedly pregnant. “We’d been in a relationship for a couple of years but Max’s dad didn’t want to have a baby so I decided to go ahead with the pregnancy on my own,” she said. But at her 12-week ultrasound, she was told something was wrong.

Catholic College is Pro-Life After Birth Too. Builds New Dorm, Daycare for Moms and Babies

People who claim pro-lifers do not care about mothers or babies after they are born don’t know what they are talking about.

And the on-going efforts by a Catholic women’s college to support parenting students are just one example.

Mount Mary University in Milwaukee plans to break ground on a new dorm, daycare center and other facilities designed for single mothers this summer, according to the Catholic News Agency.

The $45 million project includes four new buildings, one with 24 dorm rooms for single mothers. Within the complex also will be a daycare center that can provide care for up to 120 children while their parents attend classes, the report states.

Blind from premature birth, jazz pianist Matthew Whitaker is a scientific wonder

Matthew Whitaker is an extraordinary musician at only 18 years old. He has been delighting listeners and jazz music devotees since the age of 11, has been playing concert halls, and even opened for Stevie Wonder at the age of 10. What’s even more amazing is that Whitaker is completely blind. Born premature in 2001 at 24 weeks, Whitaker weighed just one pound, 11 ounces at birth. His doctors gave him a 50% chance of survival. His early birth left him with retinopathy of prematurity, and after 11 surgeries, Matthew was still completely blind.

At the age of three, his grandfather bought him his first keyboard.

MIRACLE: Mom wakes from COVID coma the day life support was set to be removed

A family in Waycross, Georgia, is celebrating after a mom of four barely survived COVID-19. Lisa Martin, 49, spent 95 days in the hospital. Doctors thought she wouldn’t make it, and her family had decided to give her 11 more days before taking her off the ventilator. But on the last day, Martin woke up.

Finally back at home, Martin spoke to First Coast News about her harrowing ordeal. “Before Sept. 27, which is the day I entered the hospital, I was in pretty much perfect health,” she said. But after getting COVID-19, everything changed. “I finally just told Jeff, ‘My lungs just hurt so bad,’ and I said, ‘I’ve got to go to the ER.’

Florette Johnson learned she had COVID-19 in April, the day before she gave birth to her baby girl. She had pneumonia, and as she went into labor her oxygen began to drop. Doctors saw as Johnson struggled, coughing with every breath, and prepped her for a C-section.

“At this time, I was already 10cm,” she told Love What Matters. “I felt the contraction, so I pushed. I closed my eyes and asked God for the breath and strength to push. The doctor was shocked. [Thirty] minutes later, my Angel was born. They immediately took her away. I did not get to see her clearly or touch her.

Pro-life students raise over $100k for pregnant moms in 2020

Even as the COVID-19 pandemic forced people into social isolation and quarantine, pro-life students still managed to do incredible work to help mothers in need. Every year, pro-life students work to help save lives, but in 2020, their fundraising had to be mostly virtual — and they still managed to raise over $100,000.

According to an article from Students for Life of America (SFLA), their members were able to help 22 mothers to choose life, while also raising $108,000 to aid mothers in raising their children. These efforts included assembling over 400 “baby boxes,” which includes bibs, baby wipes, toys, clothes, and more, organizing diaper drives and creating resources on campus to help parenting students succeed.

The development of the child in utero is the ultimate reality show

The development of the child in utero is the ultimate reality show

(NRL News Today) The reality of the hidden life of the unborn child can pop up in the least likely of places.

I happened to be watching a “reality show” known for its contentious female friendships when I was surprised to see one of the leading ladies show up at an obstetrician’s office.

They suspected she was pregnant after having suffered the devastation of a miscarriage. She very much wanted a “rainbow baby” to bring hope and healing into her life.

Sure enough, the ob/gyn office confirmed the pregnancy, in all its glory, in the ultrasound image that appeared on the screen.

Every baby is planned by God, even if not planned by their parents

(Slow to Write) The Agenda Project released a repulsive ad in 2015, and it recently resurfaced online. The ad opens with a lullaby and features a baby girl staring into the camera. Then the words, “She deserves to be loved” flash across a black screen. The video reverts back to the giggling baby for a few seconds, then the words, “she deserves to be wanted” flash over a black screen. The video returns to the happy baby girl for a final time, before the words, “she deserves to be a choice” flash across the black screen.

The ad ends with, “#StandWithPP” or “Stand With Planned Parenthood” across a black screen.

Mom Who Rejected Abortion 10 Times Now Spending Christmas at Home With Her Daughter

Mom Who Rejected Abortion 10 Times Now Spending Christmas at Home With Her Daughter

by Administrator

A mother who was advised to have an abortion more than ten times is set to celebrate her first at home Christmas with her daughter.

Chloe Conlin, a mother from Norwich, refused to have an abortion despite pressure from doctors. Her daughter, Miyah, now 14 months old, has a serious heart defect called atrial isomerism. She underwent open heart surgery last Christmas Eve shortly after she was born.

“She’s doing really well at the moment”, said Ms Conlin. “They told me she wouldn’t be reaching her milestones. She’s started walking. She took her first steps about three weeks ago and she’s running around now”.

She Was Born Premature at 27 Weeks, When Some Babies are Still Killed in Abortions

Looking at her chubby cheeks and angelic expression as depicted in the photo I saw, you would have thought she was just another baby about to celebrate her first Christmas.

But this was a baby that had been prayed into the world and covered with prayer since she drew her first breath on planet Earth.

The baby’s mother had had a highly challenging pregnancy and gave birth to her tiny angel at 27 weeks gestation. At a time when some preborn babies in this country are aborted, this little fighter was battling for life, weighing in at just a little more than two pounds.

During the pregnancy with their first child, Lesha and Eric were repeatedly given bad news by the doctors. Lesha, who at the time considered herself “pro-choice,” considered abortion. But when Eric, who was pro-life, shared a Live Action Abortion Procedures video with her, she saw the truth of what happens during an abortion and knew she couldn’t go through with it.

“I was 22 when we got married. My husband was very pro-life, very against abortion, but for me on the other end, I was completely for it,” said Lesha in a Live Action video. “Sometimes we would find ourselves, like, butting heads about it.

‘The ultimate reward’: Surgery in the womb saves babies from potentially fatal condition

Pregnant 31-year-old Luissa underwent a medical procedure in 2016, but the surgery wasn’t for her. It was for her preborn baby girl who had been diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), a rare and often fatal condition affecting one in 4,000 preborn children who have a hole in the diaphragm — the thin sheet of muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen.

The hole causes the liver or bowels to move up into the chest cavity, which prevents the lungs from fully developing, according to The Guardian. Without the procedure, babies with severe CDH have a 15-20% chance of survival.

Though her abusive husband tried to kill her, she chose life for her triplet daughters

Though her abusive husband tried to kill her, she chose life for her triplet daughters

In 1996, a 26-year-old Indian woman chose life for her triplet daughters — despite pressure to abort, threats to her life from her abusive husband, and judgment from her community.

When the triplets were three months in utero, Jasbeer Kaur’s doctor recommended that she abort them. The “dreaded advice,” as Kaur described it in an interview with The Better India, was that “abortion is not expensive. I am sure you can afford it, against the massive cost you will incur by raising three daughters. If you go ahead with this decision, you can maybe even save your marriage.”

Kaur had married in 1995 and quickly realized her husband was both a physically and mentally abusive alcoholic.

Demonstrators protest federal executions of death row inmates, in front of the US Justice Department in Washington, DC, on December 10, 2020.

COMMENTARY: It matters if the penalty is just or unjust, although it could be argued that today capital punishment is ‘inadmissible’ because the modern state is no longer competent to administer it.

Right to Life UK celebrates pro-life advances made in 2020

Right to Life UK announced its 2020 pro-life victories, despite the challenges of the year. Those pro-life wins included fighting an extreme pro-life law and launching a new website.

Defeat of abortion-on-demand law

In July, pro-abortion lawmakers introduced an abortion amendment to England and Wales by “hijacking the Domestic Abuse Bill,” according to Right to Life UK. The amendment aimed to allow for abortion on demand until 28 weeks and would have been the most liberal abortion law in Europe.

Right to Life UK helped rally thousands of pro-lifers to email their MPs and urge them to vote against the bill.

Mom chooses life for baby girl with Down syndrome after overcoming fear of the unknown

Mom chooses life for baby girl with Down syndrome after overcoming fear of the unknown

Linzi Graham was 18 weeks pregnant with her third child when she learned her preborn baby had Down syndrome. Scared and full of misinformation, she scheduled an abortion. But the night before what would have been a 21-week abortion, (babies at 21 weeks have survived outside the womb) she changed her mind and canceled that appointment.

Graham lives in Ireland and abortion was still illegal in the country at the time, so her abortion was set to take place in England. But during the weeks leading up to her appointment, she researched the condition and “saw amazing families going through what I was so afraid of.”

‘Crescendo’: The circumstances of Beethoven’s birth 250 years ago shows the value of all preborn children

December 17 is the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s baptism. Though his exact birth date is unknown, it was likely a few days before that. During her pregnancy with him, Beethoven’s mother Maria was tempted to have an abortion. The pro-life short film Crescendo is based on her diary.

Maria’s husband Johann drank away the pain of having unrealized ambitions and became abusive. When she became pregnant, according to Catholic News Agency, she considered having an abortion. She didn’t go through with it and went on to have seven children — four of whom died very young. The child she nearly aborted was Ludwig, who would go on to become one of the most renowned composers and pianists of all time.

The Rev. Raphael Warnock is running against pro-life incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler in one of the two Georgia run-off races which will decide whether the Senate remains under the steady leadership of pro-life Sen. Mitch McConnell.

Rev. Warnock proudly wears the badge of defender of “reproductive justice.”

But as a letter from more than 25 Black pastors proclaimed, “Abortion is fundamentally in conflict with the plain reading of the Bible.”

You have gone on the record saying that you are a “pro-choice pastor ”who will “always fight for reproductive justice.” You have  publicly expressed your views that abortion is an exercise of “human agency and freedom” that is fully consistent with your role as a shepherd of God’s people.
