Abortion Clinic Tells Women to Kill Their Babies With Down Syndrome, Hide the Reason Why

An abortion clinic is dodging Ohio law by suggesting that pregnant mothers hide that they want to abort their unborn baby because of a Down syndrome diagnosis.

Preterm Cleveland’s website offers a pop up message telling patients that “it is legal in Ohio to get an abortion for any reason,” but warning that “under a new Ohio law, we cannot provide an abortion if we know that the reason is in whole or in part because of a fetal Down syndrome diagnosis.”

“Preterm is open and seeing patients,” the pop up message reads. “Please call us with any questions or concerns.”

Elizabeth Warren Condemns Filibuster, But She Used It to Block a Bill Stopping Infanticide

Sen. Elizabeth Warren believes that the filibuster is bad now that Democrats have control of Congress.

But the Massachusetts Democrat relied on the procedural measure herself to stop pro-life legislation when Republicans were elected to power.

The Daily Wire reports Warren has been calling for an end to the U.S. Senate filibuster for months – ever since Democrats won narrow majorities in the U.S. House and Senate.

“Last time I read the Constitution, it’s majority rule in both chambers of Congress,” Warren wrote Monday on Twitter. “And it’s only the president of the United States who gets a veto—not the minority leader of the United States Senate.”

Premature Twins Died After Hospital Withholds Treatment, Despite Mom’s Desperate Pleas

Premature Twins Died After Hospital Withholds Treatment, Despite Mom’s Desperate Pleas

Pro-life advocates plan to hold a vigil Sunday at the Ohio Statehouse to remember premature twin boys who died in 2017 while their mother begged the hospital to provide care for them.

Emery and Elliot Finnefrock died at Riverside Methodist Hospital in June 2017 after they were born at 22 weeks and five days of pregnancy. The pro-life group Created Equal said the hospital staff refused to try to save the twins’ lives even though they were born alive, moving and breathing, and their mother, Amanda Finnefrock, begged doctors to try to save them.

North Carolina Governor Vetoes Bill to Ban Abortions on Babies With Down Syndrome

North Carolina Governor Vetoes Bill to Ban Abortions on Babies With Down Syndrome

Discrimination against unborn babies is still legal in North Carolina after Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed a bill Friday to prohibit abortions based on a baby’s race or the likelihood that the may have Down syndrome.

Cooper, a pro-abortion Democrat, has vetoed a number of pro-life bills since he became governor, including 2019 legislation that would have protected newborns who survive abortions from infanticide.

While signing his latest veto, Cooper slammed the bill as an “unprecedented government intrusion” into a decision that should be between a woman and her doctor, WRAL News reports.

The Human Life Non-Discrimination Act (state House Bill 453) would prohibit abortionists from knowingly doing an abortion because of the unborn baby’s race or the likelihood that he or she has Down syndrome.

Pregnant rape survivor: ‘I wouldn’t be here today’ if I had an abortion

In the pro-life documentary “Except in Cases of Rape,” Ashley Boyer, who is raising a child conceived through rape, shared her story of choosing life in difficult circumstances. Pro-life laws meant to save lives from abortion often include “exceptions,” including for preborn babies conceived in rape. Essentially, the laws protect preborn babies from abortion unless they were conceived in a sexual assault. These discriminatory “exceptions” send the message to anyone who was conceived in rape that the government does not see their lives as worth living. For many rape survivors, the pressure to abort their babies is too much to bear and some give in, later suffering for it.

The Hyde Amendment Has Saved 2.4 Million Babies From Abortion, Stop Democrats From Killing It

The Hyde Amendment Has Saved 2.4 Million Babies From Abortion, Stop Democrats From Killing It

More than twenty peer-reviewed studies show that more than 2.4 million people are alive today in the United States because of the Hyde Amendment—with about 60,000 babies spared death by abortion every year.

Over 2.4 million people who would have been aborted instead survived because taxpayer funds were unavailable to effectuate their violent demise.

Growing numbers of Americans continue to be shocked to learn that the methods of abortion include dismemberment of a child’s fragile body including decapitation, and that drugs like RU 486 starve the baby to death before he or she is forcibly expelled from the womb.

The multibillion-dollar abortion industry cleverly markets the sophistry of choice while going to extraordinary lengths to ignore, trivialize and cover-up the battered baby-victim.

Why Pro-Life Governor Ron DeSantis Is The Future Of The Republican Party

Why Pro-Life Governor Ron DeSantis Is The Future Of The Republican Party

On May 20, 2020, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stood outside a Central Florida long-term care facility alongside Vice President Mike Pence and officially arrived on the national scene. In one of the more iconic moments of the early pandemic, DeSantis, when questioned about his COVID-19 response, went off on the reporter, claiming that Florida was faring better on all metrics — deaths and cases — than its blue-state counterparts. DeSantis, pretty much a national unknown at that point, was summarily slotted as the anti-Cuomo, a maverick governor with a disdain for science and no respect for life, unconcerned about Florida’s inevitable decimation at the hands of COVID-19 — he was now Governor DeathSantis.

EU Parliament labels abortion a fundamental right, compares objectors to ‘flat earthers’

The European Union (EU) Parliament voted Thursday in favor of classifying abortion as a fundamental human right, putting pressure on pro-life member states to decriminalize abortion and remove the right of conscientious objection from pro-life medical professionals.

The Report on the situation of sexual and reproductive health and rights in the EU, in the frame of women’s health, caused enormous debate and led to more than 500 amendments from members of Parliament with two alternative texts submitted by pro-life MEPs, according to Politico. Despite pressure from pro-life members and citizens, the report received overwhelming support in May from the Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.

“Human Beings as Lab Rats.” Scientists are Creating Unborn Babies to Kill for Research

A recent decision by the International Society for Stem Cell Research to lift their “14-day rule” paves the way for human embryos to be used as lab rats, according to ethical scientists at the Charlotte Lozier Institute.

The longstanding rule previously limited experimentation on human embryos to the first two weeks after creation.  The new “guidelines” are being discussed and publicized at ISSCR’s annual conference this week.

“At a time when Americans are increasingly urged to ‘follow the science,’ the ISSCR tarnishes the image of science by showcasing deeply unethical scientific practices,” said Dr. David Prentice, vice president and research director at CLI.

Roe v. Wade is One of the Worst Supreme Court Decisions, Here’s Why It Should be Overturned

Roe v. Wade is One of the Worst Supreme Court Decisions, Here’s Why It Should be Overturned

We’ve discussed on multiple occasions the range of responses to the Supreme Court’s decision to hear Mississippi’s law which bans abortions after the 15th week, ranging from the thoughtful to the apocalyptic. As particularly useful articles crop up about Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, we’ll talk about them leading up to oral arguments this fall, followed by an opinion presumably in May or June 2022.

Several friends forwarded a piece written by Frank E. Lockwood for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. By and large it’s a first-rate overview, punctuated by asides that are (presumably) unintentionally hilarious.

If you read to the end, you’ll find an admission of facts that the the chief pro-abortion spokespersons always manage to lose sight of (no doubt intentionally).

Biology Teacher Tells Pro-Abortion Politicians: Human Life Begins at Conception

Biology Teacher Tells Pro-Abortion Politicians: Human Life Begins at Conception

In less than two minutes, biology teacher Tony Kinnett answered an important question that prominent politicians have dodged and ignored: When does human life begin?

Kinnett, who also writes for The Federalist and other conservative news outlets, posted a short video to Twitter on Monday explaining that the answer to the question is simple, “universally agreed upon” science.

“It’s a human life from conception, and that is a scientific fact,” Kinnett explained.

He created the video after watching President Joe Biden’s press secretary and U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dodge questions about when life begins earlier this month. Both were asked if an unborn baby at 15 weeks is a human being, but neither responded directly to the question.

A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge has gone viral for an act of kindness he bestowed on one of his students and her daughter.

Student Karen Cunningham knew it would be a balancing act to be a parenting biology graduate student, but then the COVID-19 pandemic ruined the plans she had in place. She and her husband Steve needed to figure out how to manage their jobs and studies while also caring for their baby girl Katie who was born in July 2020.

According to The Washington Post, the couple lived in student housing and there was an on-campus daycare center, however, it was shut down because of the pandemic.

Women discuss the ‘forbidden grief’ they feel after having an abortion

The abortion industry has a vested interest in promoting abortions as empowering for women, which means downplaying the effect it has afterward. Yet women are still speaking out, sharing their experiences and the grief they feel after having abortions — and how they’re expected to keep quiet about it.

A recent Buzzfeed article explored what women called the “forbidden grief” of being post-abortive. It began with a viral TikTok video from Kaylyn Weston discussing her abortion, which has gained over 1 million views.

“A year ago, I found out I was pregnant. I decided to have an abortion because I thought it was the right choice,” she began.

Minnesota State Senator ignored doctors’ advice to abort one twin: ‘We’re incredibly pro-life’

Julia Coleman, the youngest Minnesota state senator in office, recently spoke with The Catholic Spirit about her experience balancing marriage, motherhood, pregnancy, and her political career. She has three young sons, including identical twin newborns who faced a challenging pregnancy that led doctors to advise Coleman and her husband Jacob to abort one of them.

During her pregnancy with Charles and James, Charles was diagnosed with Selective Intrauterine Growth Restriction (sIUGR) and was not growing properly, and both boys were also monitored for  Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), which can be life-threatening for one or both babies. Coleman also began to show signs of preterm labor and she ended up working from the hospital.

Southern Baptist Church Calls for “Immediate Abolition of Abortion Without Exception”

Southern Baptist Church Calls for “Immediate Abolition of Abortion Without Exception”

The Southern Baptist Church has voted at its annual meeting for a call to immediately abolish abortion without exception or compromise.

Members of the Southern Baptist Convention voted at their annual convention for multiple pro-life resolutions condemning abortion and supporting the Hyde Amendment that protects Americans from being forced to fund killing babies in abortion. Baptists ultimate approved a resolution calling for the “immediate abolition of abortion without exception or compromise.”

Here’s more background on the passage of the resolution:

According to SBC practice, messengers are allowed to submit proposed resolutions in advance of the annual meeting. Those resolutions are then reviewed by the Committee on Resolutions, which often combines similar ideas into single resolutions or declines to advance all the suggestions.

A new report from the Institute of Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) is being hyped by the abortion industry, claiming it proves that abortion should be completely unrestricted. According to the IWPR, restrictions on abortion are a drain on the economy, costing Americans over $100 billion in economic losses.

Orlando Weekly reported that in Florida alone, lifting abortion restrictions would result in an earnings increase of $6 million for women with jobs in the state, implying that the killing of human beings in abortion results is economically beneficial.

“We know at the national level, the state-level abortion restrictions cost $105 billion per year by reducing labor-force participation and earnings,” Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood, said in a statement.

At the beginning of this year, I was invited to take part in an online debate on the topic of assisted suicide organised by a Scottish university in front of a large number of students.

During the discussion, I argued that it would be irrational for the Scottish Parliament to support the legalisation of state assisted suicide while at the same time supporting the Scottish Government’s Suicide Prevention National Action Plan. This seeks to reduce the very high number of suicides in Scotland including amongst relatively young persons.

Case study: Organ donor homicide.

Most people become organ donors because the organs will be removed after they have died and shared with someone who needs the healthy organs.

A case study published in the American Journal of Case Reports titled: Pronounced dead twice: What should an attending physician do in between? concerns a homicide death of a 39-year-old woman that was caused by Acute Fentanyl toxicity due to a Fentanyl injection in the hospital.

The woman was being prepared as an organ donor. She was pronounced dead based on cardiac death. A minute after being pronounced dead the doctors noticed that her aortic and renal arteries were pumping and pulsing.

The Covid-19 virus pandemic is a threat to our physical and mental health and wellbeing, as both individuals and societies.

The euthanasia “virus” pandemic is, likewise, a threat to our physical and mental health and wellbeing, as both individuals and societies. Most seriously, it is a threat to our “human spirit”, the intangible, invisible, immeasurable reality that all of us need to find meaning in life and to make life worth living, that deeply intuitive sense of relatedness or connectedness to all life, especially other people.

Supreme Court Unanimously Rules State Can’t Shut Down Catholic Adoption Agency That Won’t Compromise Its Values

In another huge victory for religious liberty, the Supreme Court has unanimously ruled that the state can’t shut down a Catholic adoption agency that refused to compromise its Christian values.

The encouraging ruling has positive ramifications for the pro-life movement when it comes to conscience rights issues for pro-life groups and individuals.

In 2018, the city of Philadelphia canceled its contracts with Catholic Social Services due to its religious beliefs about marriage, displacing hundreds of children in the process.

The city had put out an urgent call for 300 families to provide foster care to help care for the flood of children coming into the system due to the opioid crisis.
