Separating Fact From Fiction: Recent Cases of Recovered Missing Children and What They Show About Child Sex Trafficking

Photo Credit: Shane T. McCoy / US Marshals

In just the past few weeks, law enforcement operations in Georgia, Indiana and Ohio have led to the rescue of some 70-plus children who had been reported missing or were considered endangered. In some cases, charges of sex trafficking have been filed. The public will likely never know a great deal of detail about how these children wound up in these horrible situations – and that’s as it should be. They deserve the privacy to heal. Unfortunately, when information is hard to come by, rumors and misinformation fill in the gaps. Some of these rumors and misinformation are spread intentionally to scare people into believing they should live in fear for their children in today’s environment.

Chuck Schumer Makes Massive Misstatement About Barrett and the Unborn

by Administrator

During the confirmation hearings for Justice Amy Coney Barrett, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made this remarkable comment: “At the end of this sordid chapter in the history of the Senate, in the history of the Supreme Court, my deepest and greatest sadness is for the American people. Generations yet unborn will suffer the consequences of this nomination.”

To the contrary, as a consequence of her nomination, future generations will have a much better chance of making it from unborn to born. Talk about a massive misstatement.

‘Better off dead’: Disability advocates and doctors sound alarm on assisted suicide

Assisted suicide is growing in popularity across the United States — but even as it gains supporters, others are speaking more loudly against it. People in the disability community are fighting back, pointing out how the legalization of assisted suicide and euthanasia puts their lives at risk.

John Kelly is the regional director for New England’s chapter of Not Dead Yet, a disability rights organization that opposes assisted suicide. In an interview with The Independent, he explained how the support for assisted suicide, both culturally and politically, is troubling for people with disabilities. “I myself am paralysed below my shoulders,” he said.

Mom of baby with Down syndrome: They said I could abort up until she was in the birth canal

Mothers have spoken out about the immense pressure they faced to have abortions in a series of interviews with the BBC. The stories bring even more attention to the United Kingdom’s controversial abortion laws, which permit abortion at any time in pregnancy if the child is diagnosed with a disability.

“We were offered 15 terminations”

Emma Mellor and her husband Steve already had a child when they got pregnant for the second time, when Mellor was 24 years old. At 20 weeks pregnant, doctors discovered fluid on her daughter’s brain, and from then on, the pressure to have an abortion was constant.

Yost announced that 177 arrests of “Johns” and traffickers were made during “Operation Autumn Hope.” More than a dozen of those arrests involved men who were attempting to arrange sex with a child. We are seven days away from an election that historians, reporters, and folks just like you and me will be talking about for years and years to come. “Historic” is a much overused term, but nothing less captures what is at stake as pro-life President Donald Trump battles pro-abortion former vice president Joe Biden the  titular head of party that is pro-death from the top of their collective head to the sole of their feet.

Below you’ll find just a partial list of all that “the most pro-life President since Roe v. Wade” has accomplished as well as what he has promised to sign if Republicans control both Houses of Congress.

DAY 36: Abortion Pill Reversal

DAY 36: Abortion Pill Reversal

The most iconic scene of the Unplanned movie depicts Abby Johnson’s pill-induced abortion.

Two grisly, heart-wrenching minutes earned the film an “R” rating from the MPAA…but also became the best educational tool pro-lifers have for illustrating the horror of chemical abortions.

Fortunately, the abortion pill reversal protocol (APR) has been shown to save about two thirds of babies when moms change their minds and pursue treatment after taking the first abortion pill.

Nobody is better positioned than 40 Days for Life vigil participants to inform women who have taken the abortion pill that it might not be too late choose life.… Read More “DAY 36: Abortion Pill Reversal”

Elizabeth Warren Pushes Massachusetts Bill to Legalize Abortions Up to Birth

Sen. Elizabeth Warren joined Massachusetts abortion activists Tuesday in urging the state to pass a radical bill that would legalize the killing of unborn babies in abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.

The pro-abortion Democrat senator stoked up fear during the online pro-abortion rally, warning that the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett could lead to more abortion restrictions, the Boston Globe reports.

“If Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation makes you scared and angry, you are right to be scared and angry,” Warren said.

She urged the state legislature to pass the ROE Act (H3320/S1209), which would eliminate basically all restrictions on abortion in Massachusetts.

Supreme Court to decide whether to hear Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban appeal

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, the first female attorney general in the state, asked the Supreme Court of the United States in June to take up the state’s 15-week abortion ban appeal. Yesterday, the Supreme Court announced that it is considering the petition and will soon announce an official decision on whether to hear the case.

According to CBS News, Fitch filed a supplemental brief arguing that federal appeals court judges have varied in their interpretation of the Supreme Court’s ruling in June Medical Services v. Russo — the court’s recent ruling that struck down a Louisiana abortion law. Some are using it to block abortion restrictions, while others are using it to prop up pro-life laws.

The Next Four Years: Religious liberty

by Administrator

For the Oct. 30 – Nov. 7 special election issue of Angelus, we asked a handful of Catholic thinkers to offer their thoughts on the issues that American Catholics should care about for the next four years, independent of the candidates or political party that govern after the Nov. 3 elections.

Each day starting Oct. 27, one of the seven essays from our guest contributors will be published on AngelusNews.com.

In his new encyclical letter, “Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis calls people of all faiths and goodwill to see every human person as worthy of dignity, as beings with their eyes fixed on the transcendent, recognizing the magnitude of the gift we have been given in one another, manifested in a desire to become ever more fully themselves in the image of God.

We must ensure revised assisted dying law will not threaten lives of people with disabilities.

In recent months, horrific acts of violence and abuse against racialized people who were in distress have forced Canadians to begin to wake up to the reality of systemic racism in Canada. While the need to address systemic racism remains urgent, the fact that our country is on the verge of expanding eligibility for Medical Aid in Dying to include people with disabilities who are not at end-of-life creates an equally urgent need for Canadians to wake up to another form of systemic discrimination that is just as widespread and just as deadly.

President Trump: “Our Rights Do Not Come From Government, They Come From God”

by Administrator

President Trump was recently interviewed by the Religion News Service. Below are five questions posed to the president by RNS and his responses on issues related to faith and the preservation of religious liberty. Please share this interview with friends and family members.

1. Last week you gave reference to thanking God that you had COVID. What did you learn spiritually during your COVID experience?

It was amazing to see so many great Americans who reached out and said they were praying for me and my family. This country is full of wonderful people with strong faith in God. Melania and I felt the prayers of Americans from all across the country – and even around the world.

Kanye West: Abortion has killed more black lives in 2020 than total US COVID death count

by Administrator

October 26, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – So, Kanye West — 2020 presidential candidate, rap artist, and (recently) self-described Christian — headed over to Texas for a conversation with Joe Rogan, and it was quite the ride. West talked about how he plans to create stadium churches; his brawls with the music industry executives; his (very American) path from hip hop to church and sort of back again; and his apparently very real political aspirations.

Despite accusations from the Left that Kanye West is running for president as the 2020 election cycle’s Jill Stein with an eye to screwing things up for Joe Biden, West dropped $3 million on his campaign last month alone.

Woman who took abortion pill: I was ‘weeping and screaming’ because I saw my baby

The book, “Shockwaves: Abortions Wider Circle of Victims,” details the stories of people hurt by abortion, including that of a woman named Salome who shared her own horrific experience with the abortion pill.

Many pro-choice organizations claim that having an abortion by pill is just like having a regular monthly period. In fact, Teen Vogue, a magazine aimed at impressionable teenagers, said taking the abortion pill is “like having a period.… While it may cause cramps and bleeding similar to your typical period, it’s a safe, simple, and noninvasive way to provide reproductive care.”

But women who have taken the abortion pill continue to share the truth.

New Euthanasia Laws Drop Illusion of “Choice”

by Administrator

“Even when not motivated by a selfish refusal to be burdened with the life of someone who is suffering, euthanasia must be called a false mercy, and indeed a disturbing ‘perversion’ of mercy. True ‘compassion’ leads to sharing another’s pain; it does not kill the person whose suffering we cannot bear. Moreover, the act of euthanasia appears all the more perverse if it is carried out by those, like relatives, who are supposed to treat a family member with patience and love, or by those, such as doctors, who by virtue of their specific profession are supposed to care for the sick person even in the most painful terminal stages.”

Pharmacists Find Challenges and Rewards for Taking a Pro-Life Stand

by Administrator

When pharmacist Pat McNerney quit his job at an Arizona pharmacy in 2004 because he no longer felt he could dispense birth-control pills, the decision upended his family’s comfortable life.

But when everything settled, they were living out their pro-life Catholic convictions at their own independent pharmacy by not selling contraceptives.

“I ended up moving and selling my house, leaving my job and taking a job in a niche pharmacy making [intravenous] solutions for people at home so I didn’t have to worry about [dispensing birth control] at all,” said McNerney about his transition to opening Ave Maria Pharmacy in Prescott, Arizona, in 2008.

Forced abortion is the ultimate form of domestic violence

by Administrator

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. While abortion advocates present abortion as a means to rescue women from their abusers, this is inaccurate. Abortion within abusive relationships is often coerced. Some abusers even force pregnancy on their victims so they can then force them to abort.

Forced abortion statistics

In a national study on forced abortion in America, research revealed that 64% of women who obtained abortions were pressured to do so, and some of the coercion was physically violent. Of those women, 65% showed signs of trauma. The study cited testimony from a former abortion business security guard who told the Massachusetts legislature that women were routinely brought to the abortion facility by their abusive and threatening partners, to ensure they went through with the abortions.

Pressure and deception: Abortion counselor told woman her baby was a ‘micro-dot’

by Administrator

“Counseling” in abortion facilities has been reported by many women as a one-sided sales pitch for abortion. In a book about post-abortive women, two women described how they were pressured into abortions.

Wendy didn’t want an abortion, but her boyfriend was pressuring her. She described what happened at the abortion facility:

During the group counseling session prior to my abortion, I questioned my choice to have an abortion. I said I didn’t want to abort but my boyfriend did. I was struggling because I couldn’t afford to raise a child on my own.

The counselor quickly told me that meant I wanted to have an abortion.

Dominic is alive and well today after doctors told his mom she needed an abortion

In 2016, Tara Vigarino’s water broke at just 17 weeks. Terrified, Vigarino was told that her baby had no chance of survival due to such an early gestational age. “I was a basket of emotions,” Vigarino told SELF magazine. “It was not at all what I was expecting to hear.”

Doctors at Vigarino’s hospital encouraged her to either have an abortion or to go home and wait for a miscarriage to happen. However, her OB/GYN offered her help and hope and told her to stay in bed and drink fluids to try to increase what amniotic fluid she did have.

Once a week she would visit her OB/GYN to check on the baby.
